Flower Shop

Meg Kimball and Joseph W. Dick Architects collaborated on a city floral shop, emulating a hidden courtyard one might find in Boston's historic Beacon Hill. The shop, which previously had only one small window, was reconfigured in a different direction, giving it over 30' of street frontage. It was then augmented with a bi-fold door system that opens the shop up to the street in nice weather. Complete with an indoor fountain and a hidden fiber optic lighting system in the ceiling which gives the effect of thousands of twinkling stars, an oasis beckons pedestrians on the street to come inside and enjoy a moment of beauty.
