The Center of the World tapestry depicts the sacred connection of earth and heaven. Each design piece, handwoven on an ancient loom with the ancestral Ukrainian technique of lizhykarstvo, passed down from mother to daughter in the Carpathians, a mountainous region of Ukraine. Loosely woven stitching recalls the feeling of soft, crumbly soil. The nature of the tapestry and of earth herself intersect in a weaving process guided by nature. Made in Ukraine.
